Senate Resolution mourning the death of John Frederick Schwegler of Rock Island, who passed away on October 1, 2016, at age 85.

Schwegler was a 1949 graduate of Rock Island High School, Army Korean War veteran, and held industrial engineering degrees from the University of Illinois (1958) and University of Iowa (1964).

Worked as a plant equipment designer and industrial engineer at Rock Island Arsenal after completing a machinist apprenticeship at Farmall Works of International Harvester.

Active member of Two Rivers Church where he sang in the Sanctuary Choir for 38 years and served as a 60-year member of the Masonic Fraternity, including three terms as Master of Trio Lodge No. 57.

Survived by his wife Nancy (married 56 years), sons Thomas and William, sister Elizabeth, and extended family including three grandnieces and four grandnephews.
