Senate Resolution mourning the death of Tanya Lynette "Tan" Sanford, who passed away on October 12, 2016.

Sanford was born December 4, 1972 in Centreville and educated in East St. Louis School District 189; she graduated from Lincoln Senior High in 1990.

Earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 and Master of Language Arts in 1998 from Western Illinois University; worked as a speech-language pathologist for School District 189 and RehabCare/Kindred Hospital.

Active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Epsilon XI Chapter), Victory Church St. Louis, and served as secretary for the East St. Louis Chapter of Jack and Jill of America.

Survived by her husband Carlos Sr., sons Carlos Jr. and Tyler, parents, sister, and numerous extended family members; resolution extends condolences to her family and loved ones.
