Gilbert A. Huber of Moline died on October 17, 2016, and the Illinois Senate honors his memory with this resolution.

Born October 6, 1942, in Hillsboro to Carl Gilbert and Kathleen (Slagel) Huber; served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve.

Worked as a machinist at Rock Island Arsenal with reserve police duties; served as a security officer at Stateville Penitentiary and for 17 years at the iWireless Center.

Survived by his wife Carol, three children (Deborah, Jennifer, and Jay Huber), three stepchildren, five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and two siblings.

Senate extends sincere condolences to the family and directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to the Huber family.
