Donald A. "Rudy" Rudat passed away on September 14, 2016 at age 83; he was born September 17, 1932 in Crystal Lake to parents Fred Rudat, Sr. and Augusta Rudat.

Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict.

Worked in the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry for 57 years, retiring in March 2007, and served as Executive Director of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - Elgin and Vicinity for 20 years.

Active in his community through membership at Immanuel Lutheran Church, service on the Crystal Lake Fire and Police Commission for over 20 years, establishment of the Teen Table Talks Program, and volunteering with PADS and the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

Survived by his wife Donna (married April 30, 1960), four children, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews; the Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to his family.
