Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Iberia Beatrice Hampton, who passed away on October 16, 2016.

Hampton was born February 5, 1922 in Haynesville, Louisiana, attended Grambling College, and retired from Corn Products in Argo after serving as a union steward.

She was a civil rights activist and community organizer known for her involvement in multiple organizations and her cooking that served her neighborhood.

Hampton was a longtime member of multiple Baptist churches including Bethel Baptist Church in Haynesville, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Morgan Park, and Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood.

A suitable copy of the resolution shall be presented to Hampton's family as an expression of sympathy.
