Illinois Senate mourns the death of Bill Knight of Evanston, who passed away on September 25, 2016

Bill Knight was born April 15, 1928, in Moberly, Missouri; graduated from Carthage High School in 1946; attended Western Illinois State Teachers College; and married Betty Lou Stark on February 4, 1949

Bill Knight had a 40-year career at Western Illinois Electric Co-op as a groundman, lineman, engineer, and supervisor

In retirement, Bill Knight taught himself piano, woodworking, furniture refinishing, and clock repair; pursued genealogy; and enjoyed golfing, making six holes-in-one over 10 years, along with following sports and listening to jazz

Bill Knight volunteered with the SHARE food program, was a former Elder with Elvaston Community Church, and is survived by his sons Bill Jr. and Tracy, grandson Russell Baker, sister Bonnie Graves, and rescue dog Molly
