Richard Russell Haefele passed away on September 11, 2016; he was born September 24, 1934 in Crystal Lake.

Haefele was a United States Army veteran and Colorado State University graduate who worked at Black Dot, Incorporated of Crystal Lake for over 30 years, retiring as Vice President of Production.

Haefele volunteered with the McHenry County Conservation District, Boy Scouts, YMCA Adventure Guides, and served on multiple committees at Resurrection Catholic Church in Woodstock.

Haefele is survived by his wife of 55 years (Gayle), four children, five grandchildren, and several other family members.

The Illinois Senate expresses sympathy for the passing of Richard Haefele and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to his family.
