James Stilling of McHenry passed away on September 26, 2016, at age 89 after being born December 6, 1926, in Johnsburg.

Served in the United States Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947 and worked as a carpenter for George Hiller and Son for 45 years.

Married Catherine Sullivan on November 12, 1949, in Wonder Lake and was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years.

Survived by wife Catherine of 67 years, four children (James Jr., David, Kevin, and Thomas), nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to the family and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to the Stilling family.
