Recognizes that 8,270 licensed nurse practitioners in Illinois provide primary, acute, and specialty care through advanced clinical education and training

Notes that nurse practitioners diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications using a patient-centered, holistic model of care, with over 870 million patient visits annually across the United States

Acknowledges that five decades of research demonstrates the high quality of care provided by nurse practitioners and that better utilization creates a more accessible, efficient, and cost-effective healthcare system

Directs that suitable copies of the resolution be presented to the Illinois Nurses Association and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing
