Illinois Senate honors Harold R. Irwin of Woodstock, who passed away on October 22, 2016, at age 97.

Irwin served 30 years with NICOR Gas Company and later drove a bus for Sedom; he was a World War II veteran in the United States Army Air Corps.

Active in his community for decades, including 69 years as a member of First United Methodist Church in Woodstock, 20 years as Secretary/Treasurer of the church fellowship, and participation in the Kiwanis Golden K Club and Boy Scouts.

Charter and life member of VFW Post 5040 since 1946, participating in over 200 graveside services for veterans through the Post Honor Guard.

Senate expresses condolences to his surviving daughter Nancy, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and cousins.
