John Walsh D'Arcy III passed away on August 23, 2016, at age 90 after a life of service to his community and family.

Served in the United States Navy as a bombardier during World War II and later attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Had a successful banking career starting at Pullman Bank in Chicago, where he helped initiate the Illinois Bank Charge before it became VISA, and later founded Heritage Bank and Trust in Joliet in 1971.

Was an active member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield and served in various leadership roles including President of the Joliet Rotary Club, Plainfield Village Trustee, and trustee of the University of St. Francis.

Survived by his wife of 67 years Margaret Jeanette, eight children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one brother Edward.
