Raymond H. Beyer of Lindenhurst died on November 2, 2016; he was born August 16, 1922 in Welch, Minnesota and lived most of his adult life in North Chicago.

Served as a naval armed guard in the United States Navy during World War II.

Retired in 1987 after 23 years of service at North Chicago Community High School, advancing from custodian to Facilities and Energy Manager.

Member of Holy Family Church, Queen of Peace Church, and St. Mary of the Annunciation.

Survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" of 72 years, six children, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several siblings.
