Honors State Senator Gary Forby for his representation of the 59th Senate District since 2003 and his public service beginning on the Franklin County Board in 2001.

Recognizes Forby's advocacy for labor rights as a union member for over 40 years and Chair of the Senate Labor Committee, supporting fair wages and middle-class families.

Acknowledges Forby's efforts to secure state funding for major projects including the I-57 on-ramp in Marion, expansions of Ferrell Hospital and Herrin Hospital, school construction grants, and support for Southern Illinois University.

Commends Forby's pro-coal legislation efforts, including passage of the Coal Mining and Electric Generation Act that provided half a million dollars in funding, and his role as chief sponsor of concealed carry legislation.
