Allows waiver of associate's degree requirement for police applicants who complete 60 credit hours toward a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Allows waiver of associate's degree requirement for police applicants with 24 months of honorable active duty in U.S. Armed Forces or 180 days of combat duty recognized by Department of Defense.

Allows waiver of bachelor's degree requirement for police applicants with 36 months of honorable active duty in U.S. Armed Forces or 180 days of combat duty recognized by Department of Defense.

Maintains existing examination requirements for fire and police department applicants, including practical tests, physical qualifications, and health assessments.

Preserves disqualifications for applicants with felony convictions, crimes involving moral turpitude, and certain misdemeanor convictions related to violent crimes and moral character.
