IL HB0350

Amends the Illinois Pension Code to deny survivor benefits to any person convicted of a felony relating to or arising out of the service of the member/employee from whom the benefit would result.

Applies survivor benefit forfeiture provisions across all major Illinois public employee pension systems including state employees, police officers, firefighters, teachers, judges, and municipal workers.

Protects vested rights and contracts acquired prior to the effective date of this amendatory act and preserves the right to refunds for those with prior vested rights.

Requires all participants entering service after the effective date of this act to consent to the felony forfeiture provisions as a condition of participation in their respective pension systems.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
