IL HB0726

Amends the School Code to require that students may not complete 8th grade or graduate from high school without studying Black History, including the African slave trade, slavery in America, and vestiges of slavery in the United States.

Allows public elementary and high schools to meet Black History requirements through online programs or courses.

Requires all public universities in Illinois (University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University) to offer a Black History course.

Requires all community colleges in Illinois to offer a Black History course studying the same material and historical events.

Allows public universities and community colleges to fulfill the Black History course requirement by offering an online course.
