Amends Illinois Pension Code Section 7-109.3 to expand the definition of "Sheriff's Law Enforcement Employees" (SLEP) to include police officers and firefighters from participating municipalities meeting specific criteria.

Allows police officers and firefighters employed by municipalities with 30+ full-time police officers and 50+ full-time firefighters to participate in the SLEP fund if the municipality has not established an Article 3 or 4 pension fund and the governing authority adopts an affirmative resolution.

SLEP status applies only to employment occurring on or after the adoption of the resolution and automatically terminates if the municipality later establishes an Article 3 or 4 pension fund.

Maintains existing provisions that employees granted military leave or authorized leave of absence receive service credit in their SLEP capacity.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
