IL HB1336

Prohibits insurers from increasing premiums, canceling, or refusing to renew personal automobile insurance policies solely because the insured or a regular operator had an accident while responding to an emergency as a volunteer EMS provider.

Applies the prohibition to all insurers authorized to conduct business in Illinois, including those controlled by or under common control with Illinois-authorized insurers.

Extends the same protections to personal umbrella insurance policies.

Defines volunteer EMS provider according to Section 1-220 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
