Requires all public schools to provide reasonable accommodations for lactating students to express breast milk, breastfeed an infant child, or address other breastfeeding-related needs on school campuses.

Required accommodations include access to a private room (other than a restroom), permission to bring breast pumps and equipment, access to electrical outlets, and safe storage for expressed breast milk.

Lactating students must receive reasonable time during the school day for breastfeeding or milk expression and cannot face academic penalties; schools must allow students to make up missed work.

Schools only need to provide these accommodations when at least one lactating student is enrolled on the campus and may use existing facilities to meet the requirements.

Students may file complaints through the standard school grievance procedure (23 Ill. Adm. Code 200) if schools fail to comply; these requirements also apply to charter schools.
