IL HB2402

Establishes noise level limits for motorcycles at 50 feet from the centerline of the lane of travel: 80 decibels on highways with speed limits of 35 mph or less, 82 decibels on grades exceeding 3% with speed limits of 35 mph or less, and 86 decibels on highways with speed limits exceeding 35 mph.

Establishes penalties for motorcycle noise violations: maximum $75 fine for first offense, maximum $150 fine for second offense, and impoundment of the motorcycle for third or subsequent offense.

Amends ambulance and rescue vehicle siren requirements to specify that audible signal intensity shall be at least 100 decibels but not exceed 101 decibels at a distance of 50 feet from the siren.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
