State Board of Education must administer college and career ready assessments to secondary students, with no more than 3 assessments per student in English language arts and mathematics.

One required assessment must include a college and career ready determination accepted by Illinois public institutions of higher education for student applications and admissions.

College and career ready assessment must be administered on a school day during regular student attendance hours.

Students must be assessed in grades 3-8 in English language arts and mathematics annually beginning in 2014-2015 school year, and in science at specified grade levels beginning in 2017-2018 school year.

State Superintendent must appoint a 21-member committee to review assessment content, design, costs, and results, with authority to make recommendations to the State Superintendent and General Assembly.
