IL HB2449

Amends the Illinois Service Member Civil Relief Act to allow military service members to terminate or suspend contracts for internet, television/cable, athletic clubs/gyms, and satellite radio services upon receiving military orders to relocate for at least 90 days.

Requires service members to provide written or electronic notice along with a copy of official military orders to the service provider; termination becomes effective on the day notice is delivered.

Permits service members to reinstate suspended or terminated contracts by providing written or electronic notice to the service provider that they are no longer on active military service.

Does not conflict with the federal Servicemembers Civil Relief Act or other provisions of the Illinois Service Member Civil Relief Act.

Applies only to contracts entered into on or after the effective date of this amendatory act of the 100th General Assembly.
