IL HB2474

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to modify Section 12-9.1 regarding the DHS Recoveries Trust Fund, which collects recoveries from public aid applicants and recipients under Articles III, IV, and VI.

Fund consists of recoveries from applicants/recipients, payments from specified sections, federal financial participation revenue, and grants intended for Department administrative expenses.

Allows disbursements for reimbursement of erroneous claims, payments to designated payees, support payments to local units, administrative expenses, collection fees, federal reimbursements, and legal representation in Supplemental Security Income appeals.

Eliminates requirement to make transfers from the Fund that were due prior to June 19, 2013 (the effective date of Public Act 98-24).

Disbursements for administrative expenses, grant administration, collection fees, and legal representation are subject to appropriations from the Fund to the Illinois Department of Human Services.
