HB2493 Summary

• Amends the Prevailing Wage Act to require public bodies awarding public works contracts to specify in bid calls that each bidder must be a "responsible bidder" meeting requirements under Section 30-22 of the Illinois Procurement Code.

• Requires contractors and subcontractors to report the number of hours worked by minorities and females for each craft or type of worker, either on certified payroll reports or monthly manpower utilization reports.

• Mandates the Illinois Capital Development Board, Department of Transportation, and Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to submit annual reports to the General Assembly by October 1 compiling total hours worked by minorities and females during the preceding fiscal year.
