IL HB2523

Amends the Uniform Arbitration Act (710 ILCS 5/1) to prohibit arbitration agreements for seamen, masters, and crew members of vessels.

Makes any agreement to arbitrate liability arising out of employment on a vessel non-binding and unenforceable.

Maintains existing exception for health care arbitration agreements between patients and hospitals or health care providers under the Health Care Arbitration Act.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
