IL HB2546

Restricts automated traffic law enforcement systems to violations of Section 11-306 (red light violations) rather than all traffic code violations.

Requires written notice to vehicle owners for red light violations recorded by automated systems only when the violation involves a motor vehicle accident resulting in damage to another vehicle, death, or personal injury.

Defines "personal injury" as any injury requiring immediate professional treatment in a medical facility or doctor's office.

Prohibits automated systems from issuing violations when a vehicle comes to a complete stop before entering the intersection, unless pedestrians or bicyclists are present.

Applies only to Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Madison, McHenry, St. Clair, and Will counties and municipalities within those counties.
