IL HB2569

Expands physical education course exemptions to include students in grades 9 through 12, instead of only grades 11 and 12.

Allows school boards to excuse students requesting exemptions for ongoing participation in interscholastic athletic programs, required academic classes for college admission, or required classes for high school graduation.

Permits school boards to excuse grades 9-12 students enrolled in marching band programs for credit from physical education courses.

Authorizes exemptions for students with individualized education programs (IEPs) participating in adaptive athletic programs outside the school setting, with documented participation as determined by the school board.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
