• Expands contraceptive coverage requirements under Section 356z.4 to include provisions allowing patients to obtain 12 months' worth of contraception at one time and requires insurers to defer to attending providers' determinations of medical necessity without imposing step therapy or prior authorization restrictions.

• Requires state employees, county employees, municipal employees, and school district employees to have access to fertility preservation and expanded contraceptive coverage through their health insurance plans.

• Applies fertility preservation and contraceptive coverage requirements to Health Maintenance Organizations, Limited Health Service Organizations, and Voluntary Health Services Plans operating in Illinois.

• Modifies the Illinois Public Aid Code to require the Medicaid program to cover fertility preservation services and expanded contraceptive coverage for eligible beneficiaries.
