IL HB2625

Creates a tax abatement for commercial property owners who install permeable surfaces, allowing taxing districts to abate taxes upon majority vote of their governing body.

Limits the abatement to a maximum of $20 per square foot of permeable surface installed and restricts the benefit to the first taxable year following installation.

Requires the permeable surface to be installed by a person holding at least one specified certification from the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (CPI, ARPT, CPT, or PICP) or the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (Pervious Concrete Technician, Installer, or Craftsman).

Defines "permeable surface" as a near-zero-slump, open-graded material composed of portland cement, coarse aggregate, minimal fine aggregate, admixtures, and water.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
