IL HB2828

Amends the Park and Recreational Facility Construction Act of 2009 to modify grant application priorities for the Department.

Requires the Department to prioritize projects that create universally designed parks meeting everyone's needs across all ages and mobility levels, with all equipment and the park itself being handicap-accessible.

Deprioritizes projects where only some equipment or only the park itself is handicap-accessible in favor of fully accessible parks.

Maintains existing priority criteria including useful life of facilities, public health and safety needs, accessibility deficiencies, outdoor recreation needs identified in the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP), and specific accessible playground equipment types.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
