IL HB2998

Amends the Illinois Diseased Animals Act to require the Department to investigate cases of contamination and contagious or infectious diseases among animals in the state and provide for their suppression, prevention, and extirpation.

Grants the Department authority to make and adopt reasonable rules and regulations for administering and enforcing the Act, subject to approval by the Advisory Board of Livestock Commissioners.

Requires the Department to maintain public website access to its rules under the Act.

Removes outdated provisions requiring the Department to maintain printed pamphlets of rules in its office and distribute them to the public at no cost.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
