Individuals must submit to infectious disease testing when requested by a health care provider, health facility employee, PHRN, EMR, EMT, paramedic, firefighter, or law enforcement officer who had direct skin or mucous membrane contact with the individual's blood or bodily fluids during accidental exposure or in the line of duty.

Testing may be ordered when a physician determines the exposure is of a nature that may transmit an infectious disease based on medical judgment.

Informed consent is not required for health care providers or health facilities to perform infectious disease testing under these circumstances.

Defines key terms including "health care provider" (per HIPAA standards), "health facility" (hospitals, nursing homes, blood banks, and similar institutions), and "law enforcement officer."

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
