Public bodies must investigate and ascertain prevailing wage rates during June each year and file certified copies with the Illinois Department of Labor by July 15.

The Department of Labor shall publish prevailing wage schedules for each county on its official website by August 15 each year, based on investigations conducted in June, with authority to publish rates more than once per year.

If a public body fails to conduct the required June investigation, the prevailing wage rate for that body defaults to the Department of Labor's county-level determination.

Any person affected by a published prevailing wage schedule may file a written objection within 30 days, triggering a hearing to be held within 45 days by the public body or Department of Labor.

Final determinations on objections must be rendered within 30 days after the hearing conclusion and are subject to judicial review under the Administrative Review Law.
