Increases Illinois minimum wage to $15 per hour for employees 18 years of age or older, effective October 1, 2017.

Maintains the previous minimum wage of $8.25 per hour from July 1, 2010 through September 30, 2017.

Allows employers to pay new employees 18 years or older up to 50¢ per hour less than minimum wage during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment, except for day laborers and those with occasional/irregular employment.

Limits wages for employees under 18 years of age to no more than 50¢ per hour less than the applicable adult minimum wage.

Permits employers in occupations where gratuities are customary to credit up to 40% of the applicable minimum wage as an allowance for tips.
