IL HB3293

Amends Section 12-806 of the Illinois Vehicle Code regarding school bus identification and equipment when buses are repurposed for non-school activities.

Requires that "SCHOOL BUS" signs be covered or concealed and stop signal arms and flashing lights be rendered inoperable when a school bus transports passengers unrelated to school or religious organization activities.

Establishes responsibility for entities receiving donated or sold school buses from school districts, religious organizations, vendors, or bus companies to immediately remove or conceal all "SCHOOL BUS" signage and insignia.

Mandates that recipients of transferred school buses must render the stop signal arm and flashing signal system inoperable or remove them entirely and repaint the bus a color different from those specified in Section 12-801.
