Removes the requirement that physicians remain physically present during delivery of anesthesia administered by certified registered nurse anesthetists in hospitals and ambulatory surgical treatment centers.

Certified registered nurse anesthetists no longer required to possess prescriptive authority or written collaborative agreements to provide anesthesia services in hospitals or ambulatory surgical treatment centers.

Anesthesiologists and physicians must still participate through discussion and agreement with anesthesia plans and remain available for diagnosis, consultation, and emergency treatment.

Amends the Medical Practice Act, Hospital Licensing Act, Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act, and Nurse Practice Act to make related regulatory changes.

Effective immediately upon enactment.
