IL HB3444

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to authorize the Department to provide medical assistance services through persons licensed as clinical professional counselors under the Professional Counselor and Clinical Professional Counselor Licensing and Practice Act.

Maintains existing authorization for medical assistance services from physicians, advanced practice nurses, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, podiatrists, nurses, and clinical social workers.

Prohibits the Department from providing services of any physician convicted of performing an abortion procedure in a willful and wanton manner on a woman who was not pregnant.

Allows continued use of unlicensed persons engaged in treatment or care of the sick, provided they are not required to be licensed or registered under Illinois law.
