IL HB3464

Adds public defender's offices and the Department of Corrections to the list of acceptable employment experience for private security contractor licensure qualification.

Requires applicants to have 3 years of qualifying supervisory or managerial experience within the 5 years immediately preceding application in security or law enforcement roles.

Mandates private security contractors maintain general liability insurance with coverage amounts determined by rule and provide written proof to the Department or face license cancellation without hearing.

Exempts persons providing canine odor detection services for hire prior to January 1, 2005 from the 3-year experience requirement if they meet other eligibility criteria and provide evidence of service history.

Applicants with relevant college degrees or military training receive credit reducing the required 3-year experience: 2 years for bachelor's degree, 1 year for associate degree or military training in related fields.
