IL HB3489

Allows parents or guardians of children with disabilities to enroll their child in a previously attended school district, provided that district is located within the same county where the child currently resides.

Requires the child's current school district to grant a permit allowing the child to attend a school district outside their residential district.

Designates the enrolling school district as the pupil's official district for special education reimbursement and general State aid apportionment purposes under the School Code.

Requires parents or guardians to pay all transportation costs associated with inter-district enrollment, and prohibits either school district from receiving transportation reimbursement under state law.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
