HB3517 Summary

• Allows school districts to charge parents or legal guardians for the percentage difference between full state reimbursement claims and prorated distribution amounts when reimbursement is distributed on a prorated basis.

• Prohibits school districts from charging parents or legal guardians of low-income eligible pupils (as defined under Section 18-8.05(H) of the School Code) for any transportation costs.

• Amends the Transportation Article of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/29-5) regarding state reimbursement for pupil transportation.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
