Requires food service establishments to operate under supervision of a certified food service sanitation manager in accordance with Department of Public Health rules

Effective January 1, 2018, individuals who complete a minimum of 8 hours of Department-approved training and pass an accredited examination become certified food service sanitation managers or instructors

Food service sanitation manager certificates issued by the exam provider are valid for 5 years and are non-transferable

Removes previous provisions regarding Department-issued certificate fees ($35 for new/renewed certificates, $10 for replacements) and reciprocity agreements with out-of-state certificates

Department shall accept only training and certification exams approved by the Department and accredited under standards developed by the Conference for Food Protection or its successor organization
