IL HB3699

Amends the Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and Dependency Act, specifically Section 40-5 concerning election of treatment.

Makes a technical change to the language in Section 40-5 by correcting the article "An" that appears at the beginning of the section.

Maintains existing eligibility restrictions for treatment election, including exclusions for crimes of violence, certain drug offenses, DUI violations, and other specified criminal conduct.

Preserves the provision allowing individuals charged with certain methamphetamine offenses to remain eligible for treatment as a condition of probation if otherwise eligible.
