IL HB3701

Requires Illinois public higher education institutions to adopt policies by June 1, 2018 awarding academic credit for military training applicable to certificate or degree programs.

Applies to military training courses recommended by national higher education associations, included in military transcripts, or otherwise documented as military training or experience.

Mandates institutions develop procedures to receive and verify documentation of military training claims and maintain lists of qualified military training courses.

Requires institutions to provide military service applicants with copies of the military credit policy and submit policies annually to the Board of Higher Education and Illinois Community College Board.

Directs the Board of Higher Education to collect data on veteran and military service students' enrollment and completion outcomes in the Illinois Higher Education Information System.
