• Requires entities organized under the Business Corporation Act, General Not For Profit Corporation Act, Limited Liability Company Act, Uniform Partnership Act (1997), and Uniform Limited Partnership Act (2001) to answer interrogatories from the Secretary of State within 30 days in writing under oath.

• Mandates that answers to interrogatories be full and complete, and allows the Secretary of State to request production of documents for verification purposes.

• Requires that interrogatories directed to individuals must be answered by that individual, and interrogatories directed to entities must be answered by designated officers, managers, or partners.

• Prohibits public disclosure of interrogatories and responses except as required by official duty or for use as evidence in criminal proceedings or other state actions.

• Takes effect July 1, 2017.
