• Amends seven Illinois health care and insurance laws to recognize pharmacists as health care providers and include pharmacy services in covered health services, effective January 1, 2018.

• Adds "pharmacist" to the definition of health care providers in the Care of Students with Diabetes Act, allowing pharmacists to assist in diabetes care plans at schools.

• Expands the Illinois Insurance Code and Health Maintenance Organization Act to include pharmacists as providers and pharmacist-provided services as reimbursable health care services in insurance agreements and contracts.

• Includes pharmacists in the Limited Health Service Organization Act, Managed Care Reform and Patient Rights Act, and Voluntary Health Services Plans Act as eligible health care providers and professionals.

• Adds licensed pharmacists to the definition of health care professionals under the Health Care Services Lien Act and licensed pharmacies to health care provider definitions.
