Allows township board to pass a resolution converting the township clerk position from elected to appointed if the board determines the clerk has not fulfilled their duties.

Ends the elected clerk's term upon appointment of a new appointed clerk or at the end of their current term, whichever occurs first.

Permits voters to petition for a referendum to reinstate an elected township clerk position, requiring signatures from at least 10% of voters from the last general election where a clerk was elected.

Referendum petition must be filed with the county clerk no less than 78 days before a regular election to be included on the ballot.

If a majority of township voters approve the referendum proposition, the township clerk becomes an elected position again at the next regular township election.
