• Prohibits establishment or maintenance of student booking stations on school grounds in both regular school districts and charter schools.

• Defines "student booking station" as a space operated by law enforcement that also serves as a site where students are detained, taken into custody, or create law enforcement records of contact.

• Exempts law enforcement offices, school resource officers, and security personnel operations that do not function as student booking stations, and preserves law enforcement authority to perform duties within schools.

• Allows temporary detention of students in law enforcement offices when the underlying act is violent, isolation is necessary for public safety, and no other adequate location exists, limited to the duration needed to alleviate the safety threat.

• Effective upon becoming law.
