Schools must conduct minimum of 3 school evacuation drills annually for fire incidents, with one requiring participation from local fire department or fire district.

Fire department must contact school administrator by September 1 each year; school must propose 4 dates in October for the drill by September 15, with fire official selecting one date or both parties may mutually agree to alternate date.

Schools must conduct minimum of one law enforcement drill annually to prepare for school shooting incidents with participation from appropriate local law enforcement agency, with full-time staff required to participate.

If school and law enforcement cannot reach mutually agreeable date, school shall still conduct the drill without law enforcement participation.

Schools must also conduct minimum one bus evacuation drill annually with curriculum instruction on safe bus riding practices, and minimum one severe weather and shelter-in-place drill annually; all drills must occur at each school building housing children.
