Amends the Illinois Pension Code to modify eligibility for forest preserve district members to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Allows forest preserve district members elected or appointed before the effective date of this amendatory act to become participating employees if they meet the 1,000 hours per year service requirement and the governing body certifies the position requires that level of duty.

Excludes from IMRF participation any person first elected or appointed to a forest preserve district position on or after the effective date of this amendatory act.

Updates existing provisions regarding county board members and other municipal employees to clarify participation eligibility requirements and documentation standards.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
