Appropriates $20,657,900 from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for ordinary and contingent expenses, including personal services ($16,031,900), contractual services ($2,260,000), and EDP ($882,000).

Appropriates $200,000 from the State Appellate Defender Federal Trust Fund for federally assisted programs addressing systemic sentencing issues in appeals cases and providing resources to rural county public defenders.

Appropriates $60,000 from the General Revenue Fund for resources to help public defenders in rural counties adequately investigate and defend indigent clients.

Appropriates $125,000 for the Expungement Program, $63,000 for statewide public defender training, and $320,000 to develop a Juvenile Defender Resource Center.

Effective July 1, 2017.
